Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
This policy explains what information CodeBodia collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: your portfolio is public by design, your private data stays private, and we never sell your information.
1. Information we collect
We collect the information you give us and a small amount of technical data needed to run the service:
- Account information — your email address, name, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
- Profile content — your handle, avatar, bio, social links, skills, and the projects you add (titles, descriptions, tech stacks, screenshots, repo and demo links).
- Usage data — pages visited, portfolio view counts, and basic device/browser information used for analytics and abuse prevention.
2. How we use your information
- To operate your account and display your public portfolio.
- To let visitors discover portfolios through search and skill filters.
- To show you basic analytics, such as profile view counts.
- To send service emails — account notices, and newsletters you have opted into.
- To keep the platform safe: preventing spam, abuse, and unauthorized access.
3. Public content — what others can see
CodeBodia is a portfolio platform, so visibility is the point — but you stay in control:
- Your profile (handle, name, bio, skills, social links) and any project you mark as public are visible to anyone at your portfolio URL and through browse/search.
- Projects marked private are visible only to you and never appear on your public page or in search results.
- Your email address is never shown on your public portfolio or exposed through our APIs.
4. Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the platform is used (page views, referrers, approximate location by country). We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
5. Sharing with third parties
We share data only with the service providers needed to run CodeBodia — hosting, database, and email delivery — and only to the extent required to provide the service. We never sell your personal information.
6. Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, projects, and personal information are removed from the platform; residual copies in backups are purged on a rolling basis.
7. Your rights
You can view and edit your profile and projects at any time from your account. You may also request a copy of your data or full account deletion by emailing us — we will respond within a reasonable time.
8. Children's privacy
CodeBodia is not directed at children under 13. Students using CodeBodia through a coding school are expected to do so with their school's supervision and consent where required.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
